Facing Chemotherapy and/or Radiation

For many the very words "chemotherapy" and "radiation" conjure up pictures of sickness, discomfort, and interruption of lifestyle.

Although some modifications of habits and routines may be necessary, know that remarkable strides are being made daily in treating the side effects of both radiation and chemotherapy. Maintaining your routine as much as possible can help take your mind off of the state of your health.

Chemotherapy in actuality is less frightening than its anticipation. The medical profession is obligated to list all of the possible side effects of chemo, but in reality few people have to deal with all of them. Throughout my treatment, I encountered only a handful of days where I needed to stay home from work. When I did stay home, I indulged in naps, videos, and TV programs.
